Well.... after a long hiatus, there is actually news to report from the Parasomnic camp! The debut release from The Devouring Element, "Subterranean Hymns", is finally done! It's been mastered and will soon be ready for public consumption. Not sure whether we'll actually make "real" CDs with packaging, or just sell the songs online, but either way, look for more info coming soon. In the meantime, check out six of the nine songs here!

Jason has posted a brand new Anaphylaxis track called "Ice Princess" to the Anaphylaxis Myspace page. It's a hint of the direction the "band" is moving in after the new album is done. He'll be leaving it up for a week to stream. Headphones are strongly recommended, as usual.
Work is very nearly complete on Shell Beach, the 2007 Anaphylaxis album. It will be eight tracks and over an hour. It is the end of a very ill-defined, unofficial "trilogy" that also includes the last two albums (so now then and noise for lovers). Plans are already being made for the next album (2008?), which will be titled Snow Country.
In the meantime, watch for more information about Shell Beach, available soon!

"The music on Tochter is slightly different than you have come to expect from Hollydrift. While the music contains the same type of overdriven sound present in the music of Hollydrift since early 2003, it offers more melodic forays into the static. A field recording of an American pioneer era textile machine, old synthesizers and even a drum machine make an appearance on Tochter... You will find a noisy simplicity on Tochter that is conducive to a more relaxed experience without the clutter of concentrated listening..."

Anaphylaxis is performing live! Here are the latest upcoming shows:
anaphylaxis will be playing this coming Sunday 25 June at The Waiting Room with By the End of Tonight (Texas, on Temporary Residence) and Buxton (also from Texas)! The Waiting Room is located at 7016 N Glenwood here in Chicago. Show is ALL AGES, $5, and early: doors at 6:00 p.m., show starts at 7:00 p.m.

"The lineup is set, so I figured it would be a good time to announce the next next anaphylaxis show! We will be playing the Nite Cap Lounge on April 24th with Bloodyminded, CarpetofSexy, and Wilt! The Nite Cap Lounge is at 5007 W. Irving Park in Chicago, not sure about price yet but I'll post that information as soon as I get it. This will probably be the longest anaphylaxis show yet, planning on a either a 45-minute or one-hour set. A lot of new material and surprises.
Also, a reminder: anaphylaxis is playing March 28th (next Tuesday) at Corduroy's Espresso Spot with Lovers (from Portland, Oregon) and Arlin (from Chicago). Show starts at 7:00 p.m. and admission is $5. Get there early!
Still working on dates around Chicago for this Spring and Summer, as well as Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. I'll keep this page updated as soon as I get confirmation on any shows. If anyone knows of venues that you'd like to see anaphylaxis play, please e-mail me and let me know!"

Really cool news! Anaphylaxis and Hollydrift will be performing live in the near future! At this point, they are performing separately, but we're hoping to set up at least a couple shows (in the Chicagoland area?) with both of them at some point. Here are the details so far...
Hollydrift (aka Mathias Anderson) is performing on March 27th, 2006, at Emerald City in Cedar Rapids, IA. Here is your chance to experience Hollydrift's electronic headtrip amalgamations for yourself! Hollydrift will be touring with Litmus0001. They are planning to visit several Midwestern cities during this Spring 2006 tour. Anaphylaxis (aka Jason Coffman) will be opening for Lovers on Tuesday, March 28th, 2006, at Corduroy's Espresso Spot in Chicago, IL. Jason's performances are always engaging and lovely, and this show will be in a low-key, intimate setting. Show time is 7 pm. Lovers is a really cool indie band from Portland.
